On August, 6th, 2002, a survey was conducted on the HURRICANE SERIES 7000 window screens accordance with the State of Florida Energy Office / ENERGY CONSERVATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS Designation. Our survey indicated that the Hurricane Series 7000 system significantly reduced window opening DIRECT SOLAR GAIN by 22.25% while still allowing sufficient amounts of light to be transmitted inward. These factors would qualify the product as Energy Conservation Measure (ECM) as well as a DAYLIGHTING RETROFIT that could be approved for funding with Energy Conservation and or Diaster Mitigation Grants were applicable

 Our survey indicated that the existing daytime electric lighting loads could be

reduced by 95%* during daylight hours with the installation of a Fort

Hurricane Products Inc. Super Screen System. As can be seen in the chart

below, under your conditions the Super Screen System is a Daylighting Device

that obviously would qualify as an Energy devices based on renewable

resources ( solar ) in accordance with F.S. 1995 704.07 and section 163.04. As

installed the Super Screen System was having no negative effect on the exterior

Architectural Aesthetics of your building and a minimal effect on your original

window systems Visual Transmittance ( VT ). The chart below shows a synopsis

of our findings.
